This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Alchin of Linton in
the County of Kent Yeoman First I do nominate constitute and appoint my
son Charles Alchin and my Grandson Edward Eversfield joint Executors of
this my Will and I direct that all my just debts funeral costs testamentary
expenses be in the first place paid satisfied out of my personal property
And I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid son Charles Alchin all my disposable
property situate at Linton and Boughton Monchelsea for …….. where to him
and his heirs and assigns for ever I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid
Grandson Edward Eversfield and to my Granddaughter Rebecca Eversfield
all my household furniture plate linen …………. (my wearing apparel excepted)
I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Alchin all my wearing apparel and
the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of England to be paid him
by my Executors at their direction I give and bequeath unto my daughter
Mary Sloman (?) the sum of thirty two pounds per annum to be paid by my
Executors by quarterly payments the first payment to be made three months
next after my decease I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid Executors
the sum of three hundred pounds of lawful money of England upon Trust
and confidence that they my said Executors will dispose of the aforesaid
sum according to the intent herein after mentioned (that is to say) to
equally divide the aforesaid three hundred pounds between the surviving
children of my son Edward Alchin when the youngest child attains the age
of twenty one years the before mentioned three hundred pounds is not to
be paid or divided between the children of my said son Edward Alchin unless
they sign the deeds of a farm sold to John Sharpe situate at Marden in
Kent aforesaid I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid Executors the sum
of one hundred pounds of lawful money of England upon trust as before
stated for John Alchin son of my son William Alchin to be paid him by
my Executors when he attains the age of twenty one years if he should
not attain the age of twenty one years the said one hundred pounds to
be equally divided between my surviving children I give and bequeath unto
my children Ann Ashby the sum of ten pounds per annum to be paid by my
Executors by quarterly payments the first payment to be made three months
next after my decease and at the decease of my aforesaid daughter Ann
Ashby I give and bequeath unto her children the sum of one hundred and
fifty pounds of lawful money of England to be divided by my Executors
equally between them share and share alike if any money should remain
after paying as before directed the overplus to be equally divided between
my aforesaid Executors share and share alike and I do hereby authorise
and empower my said Executors and each of them at all times and occasions
whatsoever to reimburse themselves out of my property all costs charges
and expenses whatsoever which they or either of them shall pay expend
or be put unto in or about the execution of this my Will or any thing
relating thereto And lastly hereby revoking all former Wills by me made
I declare this only to be and contain my last Will and Testament In witness
whereof I the said Thomas Alchin the Testator have to this my last Will
and Testament contained on two sheets of paper to the first sheet have
set my hand and to the second and last my hand and seal this twenty sixth
day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
twenty six The mark of Thos Alchin Signed sealed published and
declared by the said Thomas Alchin the Testator as and for his last Will
and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence
of each other at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses E.

Proved at London the 8th July 1833 before the Worshipful William ………
………… Dr of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of Charles Alchin the son one
of the Executors to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly
to administer. Power reserved of making the like grant to Edward Eversfield
the Grandson the other Executor when he shall apply for the same.
