In the Name of God Amen the twelfth day of October in the nineteenth
year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace
of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith
and so forth and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and
Seventy Nine. I Rachel Alchin of West Malling in the County of Kent, Spinster
being indisposed of health but of sound and disposing mind and memory
(praised be God) do make and so ordain this my last will and testament
in manner following that is to say first and principally I surrender up
my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my Creator hoping to be saved
by and through his only shield and satisfaction of Jesus Christ my Saviour
and Redeemer and my body I commit to the earth to be decently interred
and buried by and at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named.
Item all and singular my ready money ( ) book debts stock in trade goods
chattels and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature
kind or quality soever the same be (after and subject to the payment of
all my just debts and funeral expenses) I give and bequeath the sum and
every part thereof and all my Estate and Interest therein unto my niece
Margaret Alchin (Eldest daughter of my brother Henry Alchin of East Malling
in the said County Miller) her Executors and Administrators and I constitute
and appoint the said Margaret Alchin sole Executrix of this my will and
I revoke all former wills by me made. In witness thereof I have thereunto
set my hand and seal the day and year above written. Rachel Alchin
Signes sealed published and declared by the above named Rachel Alchin
the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of
us ( ) in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed
our names in witness thereof Stephen Hooper Alchin and J.H.
Dyne.
Proved at London 23rd September 1812 before the Judge by the oath
of Margaret Alchin Spinster the Niece and Sole Executrixto whom administration
was granted having first sworn by Commission duly to Administer.
